VAL DI SOLE: THE OUTDOOR PARADISE
Val di Sole, a green oasis located in the northwestern part of the Trentino region, is surrounded by spectacular mountain groups: the Adamello-Presanella, the Ortles-Cevedale, the Brenta Dolomites, which have been recently officially recognized as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.
An authentic pearl in the Alpine arc, with the historic Stelvio National Park to the north and the Adamello Brenta Nature Park to the south, Val di Sole guarantees a vacation completely immersed in nature with a wide range of outdoor activities.
Walking, trekking, Nordic walking, mountain biking and horse riding; all enhanced by the presence of numerous mountain lakes, varying in size, but all absolutely enchanting like precious gems fallen from the sky.
The well-known Noce river is the perfect place to try exciting white water sports like rafting, canoeing-kayaking, canyoning and hydrospeeding.
Val di Sole is an area of rare natural beauty where all those who enjoy fishing can admire magnificent landscapes as they fish in over 120 km of rivers and streams and 20 mountain lakes that are filled with Marble and Brown Trout and Arctic Char.
In the Noce, Vermigliana, Meledrio and Rabbies streams and in the many lakes of the valley, fishing for rainbow, brown and marble trout plus precious Artic chars is a particularly pleasant experience.
Another attraction is the long and meandering cycling path that winds its way almost entirely alongside the Noce river, for a total length of approximately 35 km: it is also possible to rent a bike and then easily return home on the characteristic local train.
In Val di Sole, which hosts important international mountain biking competitions every summer (this year 25-27 August 2017, UCI MOUNTAIN BIKE WORLD CUP 2017 FINALS) , it is possible to try the most adrenaline-filled mountain biking sport of all, downhill mountain biking: a breathtaking descent down unpaved routes or specially designed tracks with various skill and difficulty levels that have been created within the woods. 3 bikeparks and 300 km bike trails is only some of what you'll find in the ValdiSoleBikeLand!
There are also numerous folk, sports and cultural events, renowned works of art, locally made handicrafts and products, the Museum of the Val di Sole Civilization, the museums and forts of the “White War” - WWI, in addition to delicious local cuisine.
To relax and to treat various types of pathologies using natural methods, there are modern thermal spa centers in both the Peio and Rabbi valleys: these spas, that are located within protected nature areas, use the beneficial properties of the pure, fresh mineral springs that come directly from the mountains at a height of over 3000 meters. Panoramic views at high altitudes can be easily reached with modern, fast lift facilities like the new PEJO 3000 cabin lift.
And in winter: three wonderful ski resorts: Folgarida-Marilleva, Pejo e Passo Tonale
